Trolls World Tour Movie 2020

Apparently, The Trolls movie tackles cultural appropriation:
Poppy and Branch discover that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered over six different lands devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger and a whole lot louder. A member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb, aided by her father King Thrash, wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends, set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who's looking to upstage them all.
“History of Funk” [a song within the movie] explores the genre through the lens of the Trolls. “Pop stole the beats,” says Shay matter-of-factly. “They used everybody else’s music and called it their own and did not give anybody the credit, so it’s a deep, meaningful part of the movie. We also wanted it to have an uplifting chorus — but when you’re telling the story of a revisionist history and cultural appropriation, it’s hard
to be uplifting.”
“A challenge is having it come across in the right way,” adds Knobloch. “This is not a little kiddie movie — it’s got substance and intelligence and some much weightier themes that people are not going to expect.”
20 is a great deal! Considering it will be that much to buy when it comes out. And if I went to the theaters (which I was going to do) it would have cost me 8-10 a piece for tickets then food, drinks, etc. The last movie I saw was frozen 2 with 1 child and the whole thing was like 40. Ill take 20 and my food at home to show everyone at once. I'm glad they offer these options for times like this. :
What better way to watch Trolls: World Tour this Friday at home than with a Trolls: World Tour themed popcorn bucket filled with delicious real movie theatre popcorn!
Or how about a re-watch of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with a Star Wars collectors cup filled with bubbly ice-cold soda?
Sounds substantive, I'll have to check this out! (former college radio DJ here). I notice a quote from Geo. Clinton in the article:“We are different in our ethnicity and culture and lifestyles but if you put it all together, that’s what makes harmony." So, cultural crossover, learning from each other, blending; there's the way!
For a family of 6 like ours this is a steal... For a kids movie as bad a trolls movie though... All I'm saying is Barb is right... Pop music isn't really music ðŸ¤£

Female Werewolf

Werewolves have existed in folklore in one form or another for thousands of years, originating from proto-Indo-European mythology and later appearing in other cultures. The term "werewolf" means "wolf man" in Old English, similar to the "wolf skin" of Slavic or "wolf human" (lycanthrope) derived from Ancient Greek. Some were thought to shapeshift between forms on will, while others were believed to be cursed. A lesser known attribute of the witch hunts in Medieval Europe was the simultaneous persecution of those considered to be werewolves. Not a nice time to live.
The beautiful character Volchista is a werewolf, and uses her attractiveness to lure the giant wolf Vedrir into battle.

The Battle of Facebook and Google+ flame Wars

This social network has now hit 400 #million registered users and has 100 #million monthly active users according to a Google’s Vic Gundotra.

Some other facts and statistics about Google+ include:
--Males dominate its registered user population at 67%
--The average age is 28 years for males and 38 years for females
--Google+ users are #more technically savvy than Facebook users

[INFOGRAPHIC] - a bit old but some things still stand.

"Lately, there has been a lot of buzz about the competition between Facebook and Google+, so we thought we would lay all the facts out on the table.

With over 350 million active users, Google+ surpassed Twitter and is coming in at second place behind Facebook. Who will come out on top? And most importantly, which network is the most beneficial to your brand?

Both networks excel when it comes to building communities and encouraging engagement, but in very different ways.

Facebook is best for fostering personal relationships with friends and family.
On the other hand, Google+ excels at fueling common interests and finding intellectual matches, (since its audience is very technically oriented).

What if Facebook became an answer engine? What if each social networks became a wisdom-of-crowds database? What if computers  learnt to how to cure diseases, create cheap, renewable energy, and perform the jobs that employ most human beings?

The province of all this is exactly what's behind the application of semantic technologies. Facebook has face recognition software already in play (as does Google in Google+) but that's not enough. What is really needed is the power of Google's semantic search in a more contextualized way, dealing with a smaller but still incredibly large data set.

The players are Google (attempting to tame the web), Apple (within its ecosystem), Facebook (within ... well, Facebook) and Amazon within its own ecosystem.

Countries Needs a Department of Common Sense

A wise man once said The only thing common about common sense is that its not very common , Sometimes Democracy is the worst kind of government b/ c of too much freedom, freedom to rally,so free to loot, to burn bldgs, to burn police cars. go against law , to murder the unborn, to legally marry same sex, and on and on and more, Dumb and Dumber,
Common Sense in politics contacted a terminal disease in the 1960s and gradually migrated to the Logic Free Zone (DC) where it has gone into hospice and will soon be totally gone.
When you go to work for the government you check your common sense at the door. It's a rule. The most common sense thing would be to get rid of the whole bunch and start over!
The light bulb pictured is no longer legal to use, this picture needs to be updated with a mini spiral florscent bulb. Depicting illegal products or activities can result in jail time.
Here is common sence. Kick As, Take Name's Later. Lets get our country back. Get these BUMS OUT OF HERE. GOD NOT MONEY!
Common sense does not mesh with governing a first world country in 2014. It's a little more complicated. I love it how people with zero experience and or knowledge think they know something. If you claim to be a wise man it surely means that you don't know.

Facebook Changing Its News Feed Algorithm

Facebook’s Changing Its News Feed Algorithm Again (4:32): Facebook has announced it will once again adjust its algorithm (on January 1, 2015) to show fewer posts from brand pages that appear to be “overly promotional.” According to this analysis from Ars Technica, Facebook made this decision after surveying users and learning that “hard sell” ads really aggravate them. Robert and I discuss what this latest move means to marketers, and who it’s likely to hurt the most.

Watch Dogs

It’s such a huge game. You can be working on one tiny piece of a giant puzzle for so long, it’s refreshing to stand back and enjoy the big picture.
The tricky thing about being in this part of the animation pipeline is that almost all animations go through my code but I can never go: “this is mine”. The animators created it and the gameplay programmers implemented it. So it’s all part of a team effort. However, I was able to put a lot of love into the “Living City” aspect of Watch_Dogs. The amount or detail and variation you’ll find in this game, it’s incredible. One of the big innovations in the “Living City” was making scenarios that are less static. For example, you’ll see a guy drinking a coffee cup as he walks down the street and then he puts it in the garbage. There’s no code that says: “Guy drink coffee and puts it in bin”. It’s all a big data system that animators will use. You can use the same system to have a mailman delivering letters around the city or people buying drugs in a back alley. It’s all truly quite powerful. It means that animators can get the most out of the actors because they can improvise. These subtle things sell the city in a good way, but on a sub-conscious level. We have to deal with all the “what if’s”, and I think we were able to pull it off.

You don’t need to own a copy of the game, but what you do need is adversaries, that are indeed in the game. You’ll need to add your friends who play on either console or PC in order to gain access to the ecosystem and play the ctOS Mobile. If you don’t know anyone, you can also use our matchmaking tool to find random players within the ecosystem. Once your adversary accepts your invitation, you’re in. The app is totally free and available on both iOS and Android.

The Croods

THE CROODS is a 3D comedy adventure that follows the world's first modern family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always been their home, is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods are rocked by generational clashes and seismic shifts as they discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever.

Surviving in a volcanic world is tough enough, but caveman Grug (Cage) gets a rude awakening when an earthquake forces him to leave behind the only world he knows. With his family in tow, he ventures out into the volatile world in search of a new home. The situation becomes even more complicated when Grug's family - in particular his eldest daughter - become smitten with a nomad (Reynolds) they encounter on their dangerous journey. This quirky, imaginative stranger's search for 'tomorrow' is at odds with Grug's reliance on the traditions of yesterday.

weight gain with Katy Perry

Katy Perry is reportedly not worried by her recent weight gain of 10lbs.The 28-year-old singer surprised audiences with her curvier figure onstage last week at a celebration in honour of US President Barack Obama's inauguration. The starlet’s shape is apparently down to being content in Katy Perry’s skintight pink dress at the launch of her new fragrance, Meow!, on December 14, 2011, set off another round of pregnancy rumors.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.. The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things—-your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—-and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car.. The sand is everything else—-the small stuff.

‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Spend time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and mow the lawn.

Take care of the golf balls first—-the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’ The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

iPad mini

Have you heard of the new iPad Mini from Apple? The latest device to be a bit smaller than the iPad but a bit larger than the iPone 5.
The new iPad Mini will have a screen-size of 7.85": slightly larger than a Kindle Fire, but still packing a decent screen-size in comparison to the normal iPads.

Just finished up ordering the new "Kindle Fire HD 8.9" along with the family's Christmas presents today! It was hard to choose between the iPad-Mini or the Kindle Fire so in the end we wanted to try something new since we already have the iPhone 4S! we wonder how well the Kindle Fire will compare to iPad? we guess I'll find out soon enough!
iPad holders are awesome!
Would you buy a holder for the iPad mini?

Michelle Duggar hair

This is so much more flattering and you look so much fresher and younger. Goood Job.It's amazing what a hair change can do.
It'll admit that I can be very judgemental about the Duggars. But one thing I won't judge is Michelle Duggar's hair. Being that we are somewhat hair-inept myself (don't know how to do my own hair, or anyone else's), we can totally understand wanting to stick with the same style you've had for ages. we do like her "makeover hair" better, though (probably because it looks more like mine, ha ha!)

tater to casserole in the oven! thanks Duggars and Michelle duggar, Love the new hair do!

we guess we don't understand pop culture. With everything going on in the world right now, why is the fact Michelle Duggar cut 8 inches off her hair actually making the news? It mean, MAYBE if she wanted to do something good, she could have donated to Locks of Love, instead, and actually done something that would encourage others to do a good thing too, but no... she just chopped off her hair and it makes the news. Why?

Michelle, actually think it is because people feel so powerless to affect the major issues. Anything important feels out of their reach, and the media encourages that, in my opinion. People focus on unimportant things because at least it doesn't feel like they should be doing something about them.

we can actually see that. Honestly, that is the first time that this 'weirdness' makes sense. Perhaps you're right. Because the very reason I don't watch news or politics is because I feel powerless, and so what's the point of just sitting there making myself feel bad... so I can see, something simple, mindless, might be appealing to some. Thank you.

Twin Peaks: The Complete Series

Twin Peaks lived in its own bizarre, dark, amazing, fantasy world, fresh from the mind of creator David Lynch. The extra features on this Gold Box edition (which includes both seasons and the long-awaited pilot) intend to draw you into the milieu surrounding the world of the story, and offer you a glimpse into the gestation and making of the show, while gently poking fun at itself. To quote Lynch
at the beginning of A Slice of David Lynch, "This is the strangest damn thing." He's referring to the act of sitting on a set in Los Angeles, drinking coffee and eating cherry pie with cast members Madchen Amick, Kyle MacLachlan, and personal assistant John Wentworth years after the show ended. But he may as well have also been referring to the show itself, and to the enormous popular phenomenon it accidentally became. As can be inferred from the title, A Slice of Lynch is a glimpse inside the creative mind of Lynch through his interactions with his old stars and assistant, and watching this, you can't help but understand that Lynch operates on a different plain from normal humanity, and his artistic process, while often befuddling, yields incredibly original results to a degree that almost boggles the mind; happy accidents seem to stem from almost every artistic decision he makes. The strength of this feature is that it makes it clear that the world of Twin Peaks really existed, it just happened to live in the minds of David Lynch and co-writer Mark Frost. Twin Peaks Festival is almost an afterthought, it doesn't fit with the rest of the features in depth or insight, but curious fans will get a kick out of seeing what happens when the most rabid, hardcore Twin Peaks gather in the Northwest--on the sights of many of the show's scenes--for a fan festival that beats the heck out of any Star Trek convention. Secrets from Another Place: Creating Twin Peaks offers a meaty, four-part look into how the show came about, the filming of both seasons, and the creation of the music by composer Angelo Badalamenti and singer Julee Cruise. Black Lodge Archive features six different items ranging from the "Falling" music video to bumpers and galleries that don't do much to offer insight into the show, but they offer an unexpected, added bonus: watching Agent Cooper hawk Georgia Coffee in ads that aired only in Japan. They are quite possibly more hilarious and bizarre than anything in the show itself. The features do a great job of reminding an old audience, and explaining to a new one, why the show had such a devoted following. To quote one actress from the show: "It was unique, it came at a time when television was boring... there was nothing else like it on television." --Daniel Vancini.
