Katie Holmes

Holmes bought a house in Wilmington in 2002.

And why I feel so lucky that he is now one of my best friends . "Holmes met actor Chris Klein in 2000. The Midwest, like Holmes-he grew up in Illinois and Nebraska-Klein and Holmes were hired in late 2003, but in early 2005 she and Klein ended their relationship. Press accounts cited the distance imposed by their race as a factor. In the fall of 2005, Klein said the division, "grew up. The fantasy was over and reality set in"
Holmes told a reporter in 2005, "Chris and I care about each other and remain friends."

Relationship with Tom Cruise

Holmes with Tom Cruise in May 2009.
Weeks after her relationship with Chris Klein ended, Holmes began dating actor Tom Cruise. His first public appearance together was on April 29, 2005, in Rome, David di Donatello Award, the Italian equivalent of the Oscars.
Her family supported her, with his father saying, "We are very excited about Katie," and saying that her daughter was "a very mature young man with a good head on his shoulders. From what I've read and heard about [speed] He is a humanitarian and a real class act. From the perspective of a parent, you're very excited about both. " Sister Tamera Holmes said: "They're both wonderful people."
On May 23, 2005, Cruise appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, jumping on Winfrey's couch and cries declaring his love for Holmes. He went backstage and pulled the embarrassed actress in the program.
Cruise proposed to Holmes on the morning of June 17, 2005, at the top of Paris' s Eiffel Tower, she accepted. In the press conference, attended by Holmes's mother, Cruise announced the news, stating: "Today is a magnificent day for me. I am engaged to a magnificent woman."

"Although some Hebrew linguists had never seen the word" princess "written in this way and their meaning, others said it was a Yiddish pronunciation of the Hebrew name" Sarah. "
As of September 2006, Suri had not been seen in public, which led to tabloid stories questioning the existence of the child, contrasting Holmes and Cruise to other celebrity couples with newborns such as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. A typical example was the U.S. weekly cover "BABY MYSTERY views' friends refused, canceled baby photos, a wedding delayed, and Katie in seclusion. Better.
The first photographs of the child appeared in October 2006 issue of Vanity Fair, photographed by Annie Leibovitz. In the accompanying story, Holmes said "we were not trying to hide anything" and said he was upset by press coverage. "I do not know what is said in the press. This is my future. This is my family and I care a lot about them. The stories are not good. It eats at me because it's just not right."
This issue of Vanity Fair magazine in the publication became the second best selling issue of all time, selling over 700,000 copies.

Top 10 Food Additives To Avoid

It might be common knowledge to you that most processed foods are not ideal for our health. These foods are often laden with artificial chemicals which can cause all sorts of havoc to our body. Typically these food additives are not easy to identify, as they are hidden under a variety of names and codes and usually in very small font.

Top 10 Food Additives To Avoid
1. Artificial Sweeteners
Aspartame, (E951) more popularly known as Nutrasweet and Equal, is often found in foods labeled "diet" or "sugar free". Aspartame is believed to be carcinogenic and accounts for more reports of adverse reactions than all other foods and food additives combined. Aspartame is not your friend. Aspartame is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. Known to erode intelligence and affect short-term memory, the components of this toxic sweetener may lead to a wide variety of ailments including brain tumor, diseases like lymphoma, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue, emotional disorders like depression and anxiety attacks, dizziness, headaches, nausea, mental confusion, migraines and seizures.

Acesulfame-K, a relatively new artificial sweetener found in baking goods, gum and gelatin, has not been thoroughly tested and has been linked to kidney tumors. Read more about the dangers ofAspartame here. Found in: diet or sugar free sodas, diet coke, coke zero, jello (and over gelatins), desserts, sugar free gum, drink mixes, baking goods, table top sweeteners, cereal, breathmints, pudding, kool-aid, ice tea, chewable vitamins, toothpaste.

2. High Fructose Corn Syrup
High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a highly-refined artificial sweetener which has become the number one source of calories in America. It is found in almost all processed foods. HFCS packs on the pounds faster than any other ingredient, increases your LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels, and contributes to the development of diabetes and tissue damage, among other harmful effects. Found in: most processed foods, breads, candy, flavored yogurts, salad dressings, canned vegetables, cereals.

3. Monosodium Glutamate (MSG / E621)
MSG is an amino acid used as a flavor enhancer in soups, salad dressings, chips, frozen entrees, and many restaurant foods. MSG is known as an excitotoxin, a substance which overexcites cells to the point of damage or death. Studies show that regular consumption of MSG may result in adverse side effects which include depression, disorientation, eye damage, fatigue, headaches, and obesity. MSG effects the neurological pathways of the brain and disengaged the "I'm full" function which explains the effects of weight gain. Found in: Chinese food (Chinese Restaurant Syndrome ) many snacks, chips, cookies, seasonings, most Campbell Soup products, frozen dinners, lunch meats.

4. Trans Fat
Trans fat is used to enhance and extend the shelf life of food products and is among the most dangerous substances that you can consume. Found in deep-fried fast foods and certain processed foods made with margarine or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, trans fats are formed by a process called hydrogenation. Numerous studies show that trans fat increases LDL cholesterol levels while decreasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol, increases the risk of heart attacks, heart disease and strokes, and contributes to increased inflammation, diabetes and other health problems. Oils and fat are now forbidden on the Danish market if they contain trans fatty acids exceeding 2 per cent, a move that effectively bans partially hydrogenated oils. Found in: margarine, chips and crackers, baked goods, fast foods.

5. Common Food Dyes
Studies show that artificial colorings which are found in soda, fruit juices and salad dressings, may contribute to behavioral problems in children and lead to a significant reduction in IQ. Animal studies have linked other food colorings to cancer. Watch out for these ones: Blue #1 and Blue #2 (E133) - Banned in Norway, Finland and France. May cause chromosomal damage Found in: candy, cereal, soft drinks, sports drinks and pet foods. Red dye # 3 (also Red #40) (E124) - Banned in 1990 after 8 years of debate from use in many foods and cosmetics. This dye continues to be on the market until supplies run out! Has been proven to cause thyroid cancer and chromosomal damage in laboratory animals, may also interfere with brain-nerve transmission. Found in: fruit cocktail, maraschino cherries, cherry pie mix, ice cream, candy, bakery products and more! Yellow #6 (E110) and Yellow Tartrazine (E102) - Banned in Norway and Sweden. Increases the number of kidney and adrenal gland tumors in laboratory animals, may cause chromosomal damage. Found in: American cheese, macaroni and cheese, candy and carbonated beverages, lemonade and more!

6. Sodium Sulfite (E221)
Preservative used in wine-making and other processed foods. According to the FDA, approximately one in 100 people is sensitive to sulfites in food. The majority of these individuals are asthmatic, suggesting a link between asthma and sulfites. Individuals who are sulfite sensitive may experience headaches, breathing problems, and rashes. In severe cases, sulfites can actually cause death by closing down the airway altogether, leading to cardiac arrest. Found in: Wine and dried fruit.

7. Sodium Nitrate/Sodium Nitrite
Sodium nitrate (or sodium nitrite) is used as a preservative, coloring and flavoring in bacon, ham, hot dogs, luncheon meats, corned beef, smoked fish and other processed meats. This ingredient, which sounds harmless, is actually highly carcinogenic once it enters the human digestive system. There, it forms a variety of nitrosamine compounds that enter the bloodstream and wreak havoc with a number of internal organs: the liver and pancreas in particular. Sodium nitrite is widely regarded as a toxic ingredient, and the USDA actually tried to ban this additive in the 1970's but was vetoed by food manufacturers who complained they had no alternative for preserving packaged meat products. Why does the industry still use it? Simple: this chemical just happens to turn meats bright red. It's actually a color fixer, and it makes old, dead meats appear fresh and vibrant. Found in: hotdogs, bacon, ham, luncheon meat, cured meats, corned beef, smoked fish or any other type of processed meat.

8. BHA and BHT (E320)
Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydrozyttoluene (BHT) are preservatives found in cereals, chewing gum, potato chips, and vegetable oils. This common preservative keeps foods from changing color, changing flavor or becoming rancid. Effects the neurological system of the brain, alters behavior and has potential to cause cancer. BHA and BHT are oxidants which form cancer-causing reactive compounds in your body. Found in: Potato chips, gum, cereal, frozen sausages, enriched rice, lard, shortening, candy, jello.

9. Sulfur Dioxide (E220)
Sulfur additives are toxic and in the United States of America, the Federal Drugs Administration have prohibited their use on raw fruit and vegetables. Adverse reactions include: bronchial problems particularly in those prone to asthma, hypotension (low blood pressure), flushing tingling sensations or anaphylactic shock. It also destroys vitamins B1 and E. Not recommended for consumption by children. The International Labour Organization says to avoid E220 if you suffer from conjunctivitis, bronchitis, emphysema, bronchial asthma, or cardiovascular disease. Found in: beer, soft drinks, dried fruit, juices, cordials, wine, vinegar, and potato products.

10. Potassium Bromate
An additive used to increase volume in some white flour, breads, and rolls, potassium bromate is known to cause cancer in animals. Even small amounts in bread can create problems for humans. Found in: breads

Vertical Gardening

Vertical Aeroponic Gardening is a technology that started at Disney's Epcot. The Tower Garden by Juice Plus is a 2'x2' gardening device that will revolutionize the way that we grow food for ourselves.

This is a major major reason to have a Tower Garden and/or to buy organic from a local farmer you trust.

HOW DOES THE VERTICAL TOWER GARDENS WORK?

When you receive your Tower Garden, simply start your seeds in the window-sill kit that's provided.

After 1-2 weeks, just place the little pods into the openings in the Tower Garden. (See photo).

Next, plug your Tower Garden into an electrical outlet, add some water along with the mineral solution that came with your tower garden.

Lastly, place the Tower Garden outside in a sunny spot and watch your plants grow before your eyes . . . From seed to salad in about 6 weeks.

Since commercial use of Roundup has led to a new generation of “superweeds” resistant to the widely-used herbicide, the next step in the arms race is 2,4-D -- a chemical linked to cancer, Parkinson's and reproductive problems.

Farmers that sign up to use genetically-engineered 2,4-D-resistant corn will be required to spray down their fields with both 2,4-D and Roundup, double-dosing our food, our soil and our waterways with the toxins. Some experts estimate this will increase the use of 2,4-D 50 fold, even though the EPA says the chemical is already our seventh-largest source of dioxins -- nasty, highly toxic chemicals that bioaccumulate as they move up the food chain and cause cancer, developmental damage, and birth defects.

Tower Garden is a patented, aeroponic vertical food production system that supports plant growth without soil.

The system was developed through research and consumer testing at Future Growing LLC, a hydroponics and hydro-organic consulting firm and supply company, to produce healthy plants and healthy food in a sustainable growing system.

The Tower Garden arranges plants vertically and aeroponically distributes and recycles an earth-based mineral nutrient solution in water to nourish the plants. The basic residential Tower Garden unit is 5 pots tall and can grow up to 20 plants in a 2.5' x 2.5' space. The Tower Garden stores the mineral nutrient solution inside its 25-gallon reservoir base and pushes it up the tower by means of a small pump.

The mineral solution feeds the plant roots – which extend into in the open central corridor of the appliance and hang exposed to the solution there– and returns excess solution to the tower’s reservoir base. This circulation creates a highly oxygenated growing environment for the plants.

The system uses less water and less horizontal space than traditional farming while recycling nutrients to minimize waste. A commercial version of the Tower Garden system is displayed in aeroponic garden located in the mezzanine level of Terminal 3, G Concourse of O'Hare International Airport.

Tower Gardens have even drawn attention for enabling rooftop gardening by restaurants and individuals.

Local people who order a Tower Garden from me by May 31 will receive 10 seedlings of their choice from my supply. Out of town people will receive 10 seeds of their choice from my supply by mail. Who do you know that is thinking of ordering? This is a great opportunity to get started very affordably! Offer good while supplies last.

My friend, Dr. Carol Watson did an experiment: purchased enough greens (spinach and spring mix) for two people for one week (and we are talking a small salad), 1 cuke 1 zucchini, 1 summer squash, 1 gr pepper, 4 vine ripe tomatoes, 1 small bunch broccoli and some basil...most, but not all, organic. The cost? $21.68 from our local Walmart. So for one month, that would be ~$80...and that's not even counting "other" fresh produce I hope most folks are eating. The cost of the Tower Garden/month? $43 + taxes/mo x 1 year (which incl. everything you need to get started)...and then it is paid for and returns your $$ year after year ! This is how I figure that my Tower Garden really didn't cost me "anything"!!

Have an optimistic approach

Once upon a time there was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a running competition. The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower. A big crowd had gathered around the tower to see the race and cheer on the contestants.
The race began…

Honestly, No one in crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower. crowd yelled statements such as:

“Oh, WAY too difficult!!!” “They will NEVER make it to the top.” “Not a chance that they will succeed. The tower is too high!”

The tiny frogs began collapsing. One by one. Except for those, who in a fresh tempo, were climbing higher and higher. The crowd continued to yell, “It is too difficult!!! No one will make it!” More tiny frogs got tired and gave up.

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher. This one wouldn’t give up!

At the end everyone else had given up climbing the tower. Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort, was the only one who reached the top! THEN all of the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know how this one frog managed to do it?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to succeed and reach the goal? It turned out. That the winner was DEAF!!!

:: Moral of the Story ::
Never listen to other people’s tendencies to be negative or pessimistic. because they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you — the ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have. Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions! Therefore, ALWAYS BE POSITIVE!

Be DEAF when people tell YOU that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Amber Heard

Amber Laura Heard (born April 22, 1986) is an American actress. Heard's first starring role came in 2007 on the CW television show, Hidden Palms and her breakthrough came in 2008 with roles in Never Back Down, Pineapple Express and as the lead and title character in All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, which debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006. In 2009 Heard starred in The Stepfather and also had a small role in the horror-comedy Zombieland. She has also starred in The Joneses (2010), and has upcoming roles in And Soon the Darkness, John Carpenter's The Ward, alongside Nicolas Cage in Drive Angry and alongside Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary.

Heard was born and raised in Austin, Texas. Her father, David, is a contractor, and her mother, Paige (née Parsons), is an internet researcher for the state. She attended St. Michael's Catholic Academy in Austin until her junior year, when she left to pursue a career in Hollywood. As a teenager, Heard was active in her school's drama department and appeared in local commercials and campaigns. At the age of 16, her best friend died in a car crash and Heard, who was raised Catholic, subsequently declared herself an atheist, due to the influence of the works of Ayn Rand and George Orwell.[1] Dropping out of school at the age of 17, to go to New York to start a career in modeling, she then relocated to Los Angeles to get into acting.
According to AfterEllen.com, Heard came out in 2010, at GLAAD's 25th anniversary event. She is dating artist Tasya van Ree.[2][3][4][5] She has said about her sexuality: "I don't label myself one way or another – I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love, it's the person that matters."[6]
Heard grew up around guns, and owns a .357 Magnum.[7] A fan of muscle cars, Heard drives a 1968 Ford Mustang.

Heard at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival
Heard was next cast in the CW Network's Hidden Palms. On the show she portrayed Greta Matthews, who suffered the losses of both her mother and boyfriend, Eddie, and befriends Johnny, the anti-hero of the show. In order to get the part, Heard was asked to lose weight. It took her four months, daily workouts and a ban on carbohydrates to lose 25 pounds. Hidden Palms premiered in the US on May 30, 2007. Ultimately, The CW wrapped the summer series early; instead of the initial 12 episode arc, only eight were aired. The show ended on July 4, two weeks prior than originally planned.
She was next cast in the title role in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. The horror film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2006, immediately generating buzz and landing a deal with Harvey Weinstein. However, nearly a year after its Toronto debut, the movie had not reached theaters. In July 2007, Mandy Lane found a new distribution home and the film finally was released in 2008 with a February UK release and DVD release in June.
In 2007, Heard also appeared in the short movie Day 73 with Sarah and Jess Manafort's indie drama Remember the Daze (aka The Beautiful Ordinary), which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival in June and opened in limited release in April 2008. She then appeared in the Judd Apatow-produced, Rogen and Goldberg-written comedy Pineapple Express and the martial arts drama Never Back Down, released in 2008, back-to-back. The latter opened in March and Heard played the role of the free-spirited Baja Miller who falls for Sean Faris' Jake Tyler.
Heard also made a brief appearance in Showtime's Californication and joined the ensemble cast of The Informers, based on Bret Easton Ellis' novel of the same title, set to be released in 2009. She also filmed the horror film The Stepfather and the comedy film Ex-Terminators back-to-back in 2008 while promoting Never Back Down, Mandy Lane and Remember the Daze.[9]
In late 2008 she filmed The River Why and The Joneses; two independent features. At the beginning of 2009 The Informers made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The reviews were mostly negative. Heard next appeared in Zombieland, playing a small role as the object of Jesse Eisenberg’s affection who turns into a zombie. She will subsequently appear in John Carpenter's The Ward. In March Heard begins filming The Rum Diary, opposite Johnny Depp, in Puerto Rico. Heard is reported to have won the role out over Scarlett Johansson and Keira Knightley. In 2010, she starred in and produced And Soon the Darkness, co-starring Odette Yustman and Karl Urban.[10]
In the October 2009 issue of Teen Vogue, Amber describes her role as Johnny Depp's love interest in the film, The Rum Diary, as "the best experience of my life."[11] In February 2010, Heard was cast in Drive Angry, a 3-D psychological thriller directed by Patrick Lussier and released in February 2011.[12] In February 2011, she appeared on Top Gear in the UK. She talked about her love of guns and muscle cars, and revealed that she used to line-dance in Texas bars.

Katy Perry

When Katy Perry was a fourth grader, her teacher asked the class to make a “vision board” — a collage of images cut out from magazines that represents the dreams and aspirations you hope to manifest in life. The year was 1993 and Selena had just won a Grammy Award, so nine-year-old Katy chose a photo of the young Latin pop singer holding her golden statuette. Fifteen years later, Perry has been nominated for her first Grammy Award in the “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” category for her ubiquitous No. 1 single, "I Kissed a Girl," from her platinum Top 10 album One of the Boys, and has been chosen as this year’s My GRAMMY® Moment artist. Current sales check in at over 2 million albums and more than 13 million tracks, singles and mobile product globally.

“I found my vision board when I moved apartments recently,” says Perry, now 24. “I knew where I wanted to be even as a young kid. I just didn’t know that if I put one foot in front of the other, I would actually get there someday.”

Perry’s willful determination, not to mention her songwriting and vocal talent and larger-than-life charisma, have led to an astonishing year for the saucer-eyed, raven-haired pop starlet, who, with her cheeky sense of humor and sexy pin-up girl style, was “the breakthrough star of 2008” as Blender magazine put it in the issue that featured Perry on the cover.

You could say it all started in April 2008 when Madonna told Ryan Seacrest that Perry’s “Ur So Gay” (off her November 2007 EP of the same name) — a withering kiss-off to a metrosexual ex — was her favorite song. “It may have been a small comment on her behalf, but it was a large comment in my world,” Perry recalls. “It was like a big boat leaving the dock and getting a champagne send-off.” Shortly after being anointed by the Queen of Pop, Perry released her debut single “I Kissed A Girl” — a provocative ode to the beauty of women that ruled radio over the summer of 2008, becoming an all-format hit and shooting to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 where it stayed put for seven straight weeks and tied The Beatles’ Capitol Records record for weeks at No. 1. The video was nominated for five MTV Video Music Awards, including a nod for Perry for “Best New Artist” and became the No. 1 most viewed music video of 2008 on MySpace. A No. 1 airplay smash in 22 countries and the 2009 People’s Choice award winner for “Favorite Pop Song,” “I Kissed A Girl” has sold more than six million tracks worldwide. Its popularity also made Perry a ripe target for Fox News commentator Bill O’Reilly, who convened a panel of hand-wringing analysts to discuss the effect of the song on America’s impressionable youth. Perry was also voted “Best New Artist” by readers of Rolling Stone and PerezHilton.com

On June 17, 2008, EMI Music released One of the Boys, a witty romp through Perry’s brightly colored world that showcases her sharp, candid lyrics, big voice, and feisty, girl-power swagger, as well as her appealing vulnerability on songs like her latest single, “Thinking Of You.” “I think people can appreciate a songwriter who shows different sides,” she says. “The whole angst thing is cool, but if that’s all you’ve got, it's just boring. Everything I write, whether it’s happy or sad, has a sense of humor to it.” Case in point: the album’s spunky, high-voltage second single “Hot N Cold,” which became Perry’s second No. 1 single and international hit, selling nearly three million digital tracks since its release. The eye-popping video, with its hilarious wedding theme, became the No. 2 most-viewed premiere of all time on MySpace, proving to armchair critics and naysayers that the success of this irrepressible young woman in the satin onesie and fishnets was no fluke. When Saturday Night Live spoofed her, it was official: Katy Perry was a bonafide cultural phenomenon.

So why does Perry think that she’s connected with a mass audience when the road to stardom is littered with the failed dreams of aspiring wannabes? “Because I’m just myself,” she says, “and that’s all people want. People want to hear artists who are themselves, but who do interesting things and sing about them in an interesting way that maybe they have tried to conceive but couldn’t. I get a lot of girls who come up to me and say, ‘When I heard ‘Thinking of You,’ I felt that way to a T, but I never knew anyone who could put my feelings into words.’ I think that’s why people find me relatable. Plus, anybody can meet me. I’m not distant. I’m very much the same person I was before the hit singles. I just have a schedule for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”

Fans do seem to respond to Perry’s approachable girl-next-door quality (if the girl next door were a self-described “glamour ninja”), perhaps because it’s not an act. The middle child of two pastors, Perry grew up singing in church. “My dad would give me ten dollars, which is a lot of money when you’re nine, to sing at church, on tables at restaurants, at family functions, just about anywhere,” she says. Perry was raised on a strict diet of church music; “secular music,” as her mother called it, was “not allowed.” But one night during a slumber party, Perry happened upon a Queen record “and the heavens opened and saved me,” she says. “From then on, they have been my biggest influence. Their musicality and lyrics were so flamboyant and real. I’d never heard anything like it.”

By the time she was 15, Perry was determined to pursue a path in music. She spent some time in Nashville working with professional songwriters — “these seasoned country music vets who had been writing songs for forever” — and honing her own songwriting skills. “Every single one of my songs is drawn 100 percent directly from my life.” At 17, Perry met legendary producer and songwriter Glen Ballard, who spent years guiding and developing her talent and songwriting. The strength of the songs and Perry’s full-throated voice captured the attention of Capitol Music Group, which signed her in Spring 2007. “I’ve been through a lot of highs and a lot of lows in this business,” Perry says. “Before I got signed, it was tough. I’d write a check for my rent and next to it, I’d write, ‘Please, God, please.’ But I didn’t jump off the Hollywood sign. Everything always works out for the best.”

It’s a long way from being broke to stealing the show at the MTV Latin America “Los Premios Awards” (where Perry face-planted into a large pink cake) and hosting and performing at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool, England, which she did in November 2008, picking up the award for “Best New Act” in the process. Now Perry is gearing up for her first-ever international headlining tour, something she’s ready to tackle after spending a grueling summer on the Vans Warped Tour — a multi-band circus that one critic likened “the running of the bulls in Pamplona...minus the bulls, or the quaint Basque scenery.” “Warped was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Perry admits. “It was like being in the army, like GI Jane getting my ass kicked every single day, but now I know how to deal with any situation.”

Pass the BUTTER

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back.
It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings....

DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to5 grams for margarine.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..
Very High in Trans fatty acids.
Triples risk of coronary heart disease ...
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times..

Lowers quality of breast milk

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC... and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

Open a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny micro-organisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends.....(If you want to butter them up')!

Chinese Proverb:

When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others.

BATHING WITHOUT SOAP AND WATER? With inspiration from a friend too lazy to take a shower and a few months of research on the Internet, South African university student Ludwick Marishane has won global recognition for an invention that takes the water out of bathing. Marishane, a 22-year-old student at the University of Cape Town student invented a product called DryBath, a clear gel applied to skin that does the work of water and soap.

The invention, which won Marishane the 2011 Global Student Entrepreneur of the Year Award, has wide applications in Africa and other parts of the developing world where basic hygiene is lacking and hundreds of millions of people do not have regular access to water.

The product differs from the anti-bacterial hand washes by eliminating the heavy alcohol smell. It creates an odourless, biodegradable cleansing film with moisturisers. He came up with the idea as a teenager in his poor rural home in the winter when a friend of his said bathing was too much of a bother, made all the worse by a lack of hot water. "He was lazy and he happened to say, 'why doesn't somebody invent something that you can just put on your skin and you don't have to bathe'," said Marishane. It was his "eureka" moment. He then used his web-enabled mobile phone to search through Google and Wikipedia in pursuit of a formula. Six months later, he came up with DryBath and a obtained a patent. The product is now manufactured commercially with clients including major global airlines for use on long-haul flights and governments for its soldiers in the field. Marishane also sees it helping conserve water in the poorest parts of the world. "DryBath will go a long way in helping communities". NICE ONE, ESPECIALLY COMING FROM AFRICA

Surrender the Wind

RESISTANCE … IS NOT FUTILE Posted on May 14, 2012 11 RESISTANCE … IS NOT FUTILE MNN. 13 May 2012. Resistance being futile is a lie. We must resist to survive. The European elite sent over invaders to abduct, assimilate or kill us to take our possessions, to enhance their lives. Disease had almost wiped them out. They roamed the earth as marauders, destroying entire societies to control and collect everything. Even our body parts are copied or stolen to achieve perfection. Plastic surgery reconstructs their faces to look like a 5-year old unlined baby face, and their recreated bodies emulate our desirable distinctiveness. They dislike us but fry on tanning beds to look like us. To control the world through force, assimilation and genocide they have to be unemotional, mechanical, “You adapt to us or we will kill you”. Universal domination by taking what they want, controlling and using everybody, telling us, “We are a power that will absorb your territory, riches, energy, culture and you”. Little is known of their origins and intentions. They wouldn’t negotiate or reason with us. Their history is artificial. They thought if they spread their seed they could survive somewhere, which the wind blew into oblivion. When Champlain arrived in Quebec, he unloaded his weapons and started killing Mohawks. Their messengers warned us that resistance is futile, to lower our defenses, surrender our culture and to serve them.

Sin is expensive, emotionally taxing, waste time and makes you anti-social, makes you run from God, robs confidence in prayer, creates suspicious & unloving demeanor, makes you mentally and moral dull, incurs the discipline of God, and creates hostility towards the concept and lifestyle of holiness, purity and self-denial. Nothing is worth a state of sin in ones heart, thoughts, attitudes and actions. Sin is rebellion towards God. The core cure is twofold: FORGIVENESS BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST DAILY & FREEDOM THRU INNER PROMPTINGS AND POWER OF SPIRIT! Once you are cured you have to reorient your lifestyle and be disciplined in 5 major practices: 1) Serving others with your gifts on a volunteer basis 2) witnessing to others the Gospel & God's Word 3) fellowshipping daily and every Lord's day (Saturday or Sunday) 4) Bible intake on a daily basis 5) Pray for others and yourself daily All these practices must be done by Faith, with the inner energizing and motivating power of the Spirit. Like cyclical wheel obedience makes the wind of the Spirit more intense and the Spirit makes your obedience a lot more easier. They keep feeding each other as you grow in obedience and faith and spiritual power. This cyclical power cannot start until you take a step of faith and surrender your will, ambitions, disobedience and idols to the Lord on a given day at a point of time.

Happy Fathers Day

Father's Day is a celebration of fathers inaugurated in the early twentieth century to complement Mother's Day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates worldwide and typically involves gift-giving, special dinners to fathers.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul
and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today,
shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons
and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way
and when you lie down and when you rise up.You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the door posts of your house and on your gates.
we wanna say happy fathers day to all the dads out there. Including mine. I am blessed to still have him here. Gonna take the boys to put flowers out for Dad. To all of those guys that are there for their kids...keep on doin what your doin. I also have several great friends that are great dads but the moms are sooo blind to see that even tho it didnt work out between the parents, the children still need the father in their lives. Im not sayin there are not exceptions...but I see alot of great fathers that would die for their children and the mamas just keep em from them. Take it from me, a child needs his father. One of these days I hope to find someone who will love not just me, but my kids too. we are a package deal. They need a man in their lives and my dad wont be here forever. Not that anyone could take his place in their hearts, but someone to stand beside them. Teach them guy stuff. Trust me they will never need anyone but me...I can do it. But they do deserve someone besides me to teach them things I never learned or simply dont know. Anthony, you are always in our hearts. You will never be forgotten. RIP Ant. Happy fathers day up in heaven.

Charlene Tilton

Charlene Tilton was born on December 1st 1958 in San Diego, California. By the age of seven Charlene had started appearing in school plays when she attended the Hollywood High School. Her involvement in the theater and performing arts at the school led to her position as president of the thespian’s club.

At the age of fifteen Charlene was already literally rubbing shoulders with the stars when she appeared in a clothing commercial with Ringo Starr of The Beatles. From there on Charlene appeared in a number of commercials. It was in 1975 at the age of seventeen that Charlene became a household name when she was cast as the scheming, flirting manipulating Lucy Ewing in the television series ‘Dallas’ which starred Linda Gray, Victoria Principal, Patrick Duffy and Barbara Bel Geddes.

Charlene’s character was written out of the show in 1985 but with a fan based crusade to bring her back to the show, the producers resurrected her character in 1989 for another three seasons. Charlene’s character in ‘Dallas’ was always a hotbed of cheating, drug abuse, broken marriages and twice being kidnapped. The episode that saw Lucy Ewing marrying boyfriend Mitch Cooper played by Leigh Mcclousky was the second highest rated episode coming in second just behind the shooting of J.R Ewing episode.

Charlene while she appeared in the series ‘Dallas’ could have come from fans who believed that such an attractive, blonde and sultry character actually existed, but never-the-less it was the case that no other actor at CBS at that time, received as much fan mail. At this time she also appeared on the cover of more than 600 magazines worldwide.

During, and after her stint in ‘Dallas’ Charlene also appeared in another Aaron Spelling creation, ‘Knots Landing’, which was a spin off of ‘Dallas,’ in which she played the daughter of Gary Ewing played by Ted Shackelford and Valene Ewing played by Joan Van Ark. The series was a big success around the world but never reached the dizzy heights that ‘Dallas’ had achieved.

Charlene entered into her first marriage in 1982 but that marriage to Johnny Lee only lasted two years but produced a daughter, Cherish Lee. She went on to marry Domenick Allen but again the marriage only lasted from 1885 until they divorced in 1992.

In 2005 Charlene made a trip across the Atlantic to appear in the British reality television show, ‘The Farm’ .

Charlene also starred in her own online show 'Tell Veronica' and in 2006 co-procuced the Dallas reunion show on CBS 'Return to Southfork' with Henry Winkler.

Pacquiao vs Bradley

The longer the fight goes the greater Timothy Bradley’s chances become. With less than two months left before his fight with Manny Pacquiao, the undefeated American said he considers the first six rounds as most dangerous for him. Pacquiao fell a victim to a slick boxer with better ring generalship..The announcers were biased in that, they never hardly ever mentioned the shots landed by Bradley..I believe they're so eager to see Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, like everyone else, that they chose not see the fight for what it was, which was a close fight that could have went either way or even been a draw..What people tend to forget is that just because a guy doesn't hit hard doesn't mean the shots don't count on the point system..Remember Bradley is relatively unknown, so damn near every fan in there was a Pacquiao fan.
This is a direct quote from ABC, When interviewed Bob Arum.

Mr. Arum said "Can you believe that? Unbelievable," "I went over to Bradley before the decision and he said, `I tried hard but I couldn't beat the guy."'

Really Bradley and your going to sit there and receive the title with out even really beating the CHAMP. This really shows your true character.

In a result that has shocked the boxing and sporting world, Timothy Bradley was awarded an incredibly controversial decision victory over Manny Pacquiao. We've talked a bit already about the result and a bit about the key takeaways from the fight, but sometimes you just have to see it to believe it.

Danger in the Shadows

strangers here the last couple nights, can't tell what they look like because they are staying in the shadows, covert like, nobodies been hurt mind you and that's the give away, its called probing, a military procedure, send out a reconnaissance group very small, check things out, not to engage but to evaluate the situation, evaluate the level of danger, make sure things are all clear....for the rest of them.
your needs are being met and you're living in relative comfort. It is a nice place to be,but danger lurks in the shadows if you are not careful. Contentment leads to apathy, and apathy can lead into the deadly trap of self-sufficiency.And if you forget the Lord and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish.Biblical and non-Biblical history have proven that prosperity can lead to complacency.Every nation that has prospered for a very long period soon forgets God and therefore gets into serious trouble,a very good warning for us today.

9/10. Dark, engaging, scary, adventurous and visually spectacular. Wish it had gone for 3 hours! Already pumped to see it again. Don't understand the hate, no plot holes for me and actually explained more of the alien mythology. It has only posed more questions though, as all good films do... hoping for a sequel to the prequel!

Underwater Sunshine

Fabulous afternoon in the sunshine soaking up the sun and reading, "But three months had passed and no such inspiration had revealed itself. Assuming it never would, I was resigned to thinking at best I'd end up one of those silently scarred old men who fascinates us all, a lonely nutcase who'd rant against seat belts and bike helmets and nicotine patches, all the things that made us weak and disallowed the possibility of a true death at a young age when we could still respect ourselves because we hadn't compromised a single inch." ♥ Weeping Underwater Looks a lot like Laughter.... friends, sunny sunshine, and blue skies never end. Theres a mermaid, waving me to come in, underwater on my balls she's humming. Smoking on a phat one, we come to have fun, I got my dick in your hotdog bun. Pouring out shots for everybody that's sipping, let's get loose now, skinny dipping. Don't hate me cause the speedo I'm wearing, got your girlfriend stairing. We out here, sky's so clear, ice cold beer, suntan, topless, BITCH, come over here.
So Counting Crows goes into the studio, and they say, "You know what?-- Mindy has been a loyal fan for years, let's put together something just for her." Untitled (love song)? fabulous, can't get enough. An 'Amie' cover? I used to nap to that in my basinette in the hippie commune! And....wait for it....a surprise bonus amazingly cold chill inducing cover of Madonna's 'Borderline?' ....My life is forever altered...

"These were potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work."
1 Chronicles 4:
Potters were the very highest grade of workers, but "the king" needed potters, and therefore they were in royal service, although the material upon which they worked was nothing but clay. We, too, may be engaged in the most menial part of the Lord's work, but it is a great privilege to do anything for "the king"; and therefore we will abide in our calling, hoping that, "although we have lien among the pots, yet shall we be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold." The text tells us of those who dwelt among plants and hedges, having rough, rustic, hedging and ditching work to do. They may have desired to live in the city, amid its life, society, and refinement, but they kept their appointed places, for they also were doing the king's work. The place of our habitation is fixed, and we are not to remove from it out of whim and caprice, but seek to serve the Lord in it, by being a blessing to those among whom we reside. These potters and gardeners had royal company, for they dwelt "with the king" and although among hedges and plants, they dwelt with the king there. No lawful place, or gracious occupation, however mean, can debar us from communion with our divine Lord. In visiting hovels, swarming lodging-houses, workhouses, or gaols, we may go with the king. In all works of faith we may count upon Jesu's fellowship. It is when we are in His work that we may reckon upon His smile. Ye unknown workers who are occupied for your Lord amid the dirt and wretchedness of the lowest of the low, be of good cheer, for jewels have been found upon dunghills ere now, earthen pots have been filled with heavenly treasure, and ill weeds have been transformed into precious flowers. Dwell ye with the King for His work, and when He writes His chronicles your name shall be recorded.

Who else is feeling the energies around the Venus Transit coming up on June 6th, 2012?

Venus passed between the Earth and our Sun on June 8th, 2004, and initiated an eight-year cycle known as the “Venus Transits”. The Venus Transits cycle is a rare celestial event that occurs every 113 – 130 years, when Venus eclipses the Sun two times – at the beginning and at the end of an eight-year period. The second Venus eclipse will occur on June 6th, 2012. Astrologically, Venus represents our relationships with others. Communication is a major factor in all of our relationships. Whenever Venus eclipsed the Sun in past recorded history, there was a major breakthrough in communications. For example, at the time of the last Venus eclipse in 1874, the Transatlantic Telegraph Cable was completed that created the first intercontinental communications by wire between the East and the West. In 1761, another year of a Venus eclipse, there was a collaboration of astronomers at 77 observation points from all over the world to determine the distance from Earth to the Sun.

Today, we have expanded global communications for the masses through the Internet and satellite systems. Our ability to communicate with each other worldwide is continually expanding. The questions now become: What are we communicating to our world – love or fear? and, How is our media (the Internet, computer games, the movie industry, cell phones, etc.), affecting society as a whole?

A successful relationship is created through good communication, mutual respect and consideration for one another. This happens best when we recognize and honor the Oneness in all of us. When we are able to do this, we will create peace between each other, our organizations, our governments and countries. A good way to resolve conflicts with others is to recognize how we are the same, not how we are different. This creates a foundation from which we can build a positive, peaceful relationship. For example, when a mother loses a child in war, regardless of her color or faith, the pain is the same. When someone is shown respect and love, the joy is the same. If you realize that you and your perceived enemy both want peace so that suffering may end, then you can begin to talk from a place of mutual understanding, rather than from aggravation.

The Divine Feminine Awakens

Venus eclipsing the Sun represents an awakening of the Divine Feminine energies in our world. For thousands of years, the world has been ruled by patriarchal societies. These masculine rulers have created wars, power struggles, destruction, pollution, fear, pain, separation and famine. They have shown little or no respect for feminine wisdom or our Mother Earth.

The patriarchal organizations of the world have repressed most knowledge of women’s roles in world history. Recently, information has begun to be revealed that recognizes the truth of how women have affected our history. The books, The DiVinci Code, by Dan Brown and The Expected One, by Kathleen McGowan, both reveal the truth about Mary Magdalene and her relationship to Jesus, are good examples of such information. It is time for the pendulum to swing back towards the Divine Feminine and rest comfortably in the middle. To become whole, we need both the Divine Feminine and the Divine Masculine energies, equally in our lives.

As the Divine Feminine energy interfaces with human consciousness, it awakens and expands compassion within our hearts, and emotional healing can occur for all of Humanity. Compassion awakens the ability to feel and express unconditional love. To be able to love without attachments or expectations is the highest form of love that a human being can express. This kind of love supports the healing of others and our personal evolution/ascension.

One of the keys to accessing Divine Feminine healing energy is through forgiveness. Only when all is forgiven will total love be available to us. We must forgive others and ourselves for all of the perceived wrongs that have ever been done. We can heal ourselves if we are willing to feel and express all of our emotions, and then to forgive ourselves and others for all that we have perceived as wrong. This process will liberate us from the bondage of our emotional pain. Forgiveness is the key to releasing ourselves from our past. When we are liberated from our past and live fully in the “now” our true happiness may be realized and our power to create is maximized.

A Question Of Balance

Venus is the planet of love. The world needs creative solutions, feminine guidance and love in order to heal. These energies will continue to increase during this period, in spite of the attempts of the fear tactics of male dominance.

Venus represents the heart and the feminine side of our being. The Sun represents our individuality and the masculine side of our being. Venus aligning with the Sun is symbolic of our Feminine (Anima) and Masculine (Animus) energies coming into unity and balance. Venus eclipsing (in front of) the Sun symbolizes our need to consider the feminine expression first, before the masculine, and to allow the feminine energies to guide and balance masculine expression.

Creativity Awakens!

Venus also represents the creative and artistic sides of our natures. The Venus Transit will catalyze previously hidden, latent, artistic talent and creative abilities. People who have never expressed an art form before will awaken their hidden talents. Artists will discover new modalities through which they can express themselves more deeply. For example, many people who have never played a musical instrument will suddenly feel a desire to learn and express themselves through music. Some will want to join the local acting clubs, and so on.

Uncovering Secrets In Relationships

Again, communication is a key factor in all of our personal, business and international relationships. This Venus Transit is calling for a deeper honesty in relationships. Since the Venus transit from 2004 - 2012 coincides with the Uranus in Pisces cycle, communications between humans will develop on intuitive levels. The combined energies of these two cycles will catalyze heightened intuitive awareness of our hidden emotions and desires, as well as awareness of our partners’ hidden emotions and desires. Eventually, we will no longer be able to, or need to, hide our true feelings from each other. In time, we will develop total trust and love for each other.

Walking through the Valley of the Shadow of Death
The world needs a higher, altruistic, spiritual love to manifest and prevail over the lower, more selfish emotions. A world where unconditional, spiritual love prevails is our potential as human beings. Conscious and unconscious fear-based emotions are obstacles to this higher love. To discover and express this kind of love, Humanity must first expose and purge the fear-based emotions in our collective consciousness.

From an astrological perspective, Venus represents the emotional energies in our relationships with others. When Venus eclipsed the Sun, it blocked some of the Sun’s light and exposed the dark side of Venus, which represents the shadow side of our emotional natures. This began an eight-year process of uncovering the shadows in our emotional relationships. These shadows are the unresolved, repressed, fear-based psychological energies that unconsciously cause dysfunctionality and unhappiness in our relationships. They cause us to behave in ways that undermine our relationships, block intimacy, and cause breakdowns in communications. Essentially, these shadows block our ability to truly love another person. These repressed emotions usually begin during our early childhoods and/or may be carried over from past lives.

We must take responsibility for how we show up in our relationships with others. It is important to observe our feelings and our behavior with the important people in our lives, and to come to terms with our dysfunctional emotional patterns. It may be helpful and revealing for each of us to ask these questions: “Where am I not able to be truly open, honest and real in my relationships with others?”, “At what point do I shut down emotionally?”, “Where are my boundaries?” and “Are these boundaries healthy or are they blocking my intimacy?”

It is up to each of us to allow intimacy into our heart to expand our relationship with others. Intimacy can only happen when we allow others to “Into me see.” This develops when we let down our barriers and allow others to see into our hearts. To the best of our abilities, we must be honest with ourselves. We must allow ourselves to be vulnerable and expose our true feelings (even if they are negative emotions) to those whom we are in relationships with. This will endear ourselves to others and deepen our intimacy with them.

Expanding Love

Another result of the Venus Transit is an increase of our capacity to love others more completely, deeply and intensely. This will include heightened feelings of love and appreciation for our partners and other people in our lives. Our emotional natures are melding with our spiritual natures, which is expanding our capacity for unconditional love.

The opposite will also be true. We will become more clear and sensitive to the truth about all of our relationships. If a person is not in alignment with our higher good, we will become increasingly disillusioned with this person. Our dysfunctional relationships will become increasingly apparent, and we may feel a need to change the structure or boundaries of these relationships. We may need to end some of our relationships that are no longer serving our personal evolution.

What you Appreciate, Appreciates

In our relationships with others, it is good to let them know how much we appreciate their being in our lives. Let’s be thankful for all of the qualities that we enjoy in others and let them know how much we appreciate them. Remember that what we appreciate, appreciates.

The most effective way to accomplish self-understanding and personal mastery is through our relationships. We can monitor our process of personal mastery of our egos by observing our interrelations with others – are we experiencing conditional or unconditional love?

Compassion opens the door to unconditional love. Unconditional love is supported by seeing the Divine in others and acting in integrity with love. Our relationships with others are our greatest gifts, and integrity is vital for each relationship to work. Do unto others what you would have them do unto you. It helps to ask, “What is the highest good for all concerned?” The higher good for all can be perceived in your heart from a feeling of love.

No Man is an Island

We should never underestimate our power to influence the evolution of the world. Each of us is an integral part of the Collective Consciousness of Humanity. When one person evolves spiritually, the Collective Consciousness evolves as well. Whenever even one person increases compassion and opens their heart to unconditional love, he/she raises the vibrational frequency of the World. As the Collective Consciousness evolves, so too shall each individual. A quote from Bette Reese says it all: “If you think you’re too small to be effective, you have never been in bed with a mosquito.”

Integrating Sacred Love

By the time of the second eclipse of the Sun by Venus, on June 6, 2012, Humanity will have evolved to a place of greater readiness for a higher love. Hopefully, after eight years of processing the shadows of our emotions, awakening intuition and developing compassion, we will have cleared the psychological obstacles to unconditional love. Then, Peace on Earth, and Goodwill towards all people will be possible. Sacred love expands when the Divine in one person appreciates and honors the Divine in another. Thus, the sacred wheel of love is created and Heaven on Earth will manifest for those individuals. As this happens for everyone, Peace on Earth will become a reality.

The AIRPORT GOODBYE

The AIRPORT GOODBYE. Does everyone else hate those as much as we do?

From the moment we go into the airport, we dread the Airport Goodbye. We know that, in just a short while, we'll get our final hug, which will turn into a desperate "oh-please-don't-go" clinging-together thing.

Then there's that horrible moment where one of us has to stay... and the other walks away. Walk, walk, walk, look back... walk... look back... smile sadly... wave... and disappear from sight.

We know that we'll both feel empty, and suddenly so alone. The place is full of people, but just at that moment, no one feels as lonely as the person who has just said goodbye to the one they love. People are rushing around and talking... and you can stand there with tears rolling down your face... and no one cares. Or perhaps, even if they do care, they know there's nothing they could possibly do to help, and it feels like the kindest thing just to walk past.

There's always that moment where we allow ourselves to imagine that there might be a possibility that the one we love will Suddenly Come Back. Maybe the flight will be cancelled and everyone will return to the departure lounge. Or maybe someone official-looking will suddenly appear and say, “No... you guys are supposed to be TOGETHER, not going to different places! Wait here for a moment - we're bringing your partner back to stay with you forever.”

But it doesn't happen, and eventually there's nothing to do but give up and go home.

Arriving home alone has a pain all of its own. Everything feels wrong. How can anything feel right when the one you love isn't with you any more? You can't hear their voice; can't hear their footsteps any more; can't feel their arms around you. Nothing makes sense. It feels as though “normal” was when you were together... and this is just “not right.” There's an empty feeling... almost as if someone just died... or, maybe, as if you just lost a part of yourself.

Sometimes it takes a long time to stop crying.

So... people have asked “What's the cure for this feeling? How can we stop feeling so horrible after we've said goodbye?” We've never found the cure for it. Actually, we're not sure we'd want to. Missing someone so desperately is a sign that you've found something very special. Imagine coming home after a visit, or an airport goodbye... and not caring that your loved one wasn't there any more. Wouldn't that be more worrying? Yes, it would certainly make life easier... but it wouldn't do anything to show how much you need to be together.

After we've said goodbye, we do allow ourselves a bit of time just to be miserable... because we need that. The first time we're back together on Skype is always difficult. Carla's usually crying, saying things like, “I just need you to be here! You need to come back!”... and Larry can't do anything to help, usually because he has to go back to work the next day, and doesn't have enough vacation time, or money, to fly 6,000 miles and back every couple of weeks. Besides that, he feels exactly the same way. He's in the wrong place too... and missing the feeling of being together.

We're always glad that we have busy lives. We can't sit around crying for weeks on end, because there are things to do... like work, and rehearsals, and family things. Eventually, life returns to how it was before. We talk to friends who understand - (possibly for long enough that they're fed up with hearing about it!) - and then we get on with the daily tasks that need to be done.

We think that the best-possible thing to do after a goodbye is to start making plans to be together again. It doesn't have to happen straight away... and in most cases, it can't. After we'd met in person for the first time, it took a whole year for us to see each other again. For some people, it takes even longer than that. But we think that, as soon as you can, it's good to start making plans to be together again... in three months... next year... in five years' time. It doesn't matter how far into the future these plans have to be... but we found that thinking ahead, and starting to make these plans really helped us. It's important to have something to look forward to. After all the sadness of an airport goodbye... there's something so special about an "airport hello".
